Sacramento Republic FC Unveil New Kits for 2016 Season

Sacramento Republic FC unveiled their new 2016 kit at an event at the Crest Theater this Saturday. The kit reveal party was an invite-only affair open to only those season ticket holders that had paid for their season tickets by October 21st.

Indomitable City Soccer was on hand to cover the unveiling.

After a short round of Republic FC related trivia questions – some which were included in the team’s recent quiz – the show began with a performance by the Sacramento Ballet.

More than just a fun distraction before the reveal, the kits were initially revealed during the performance itself with costume change midway through. The number, which included the most impressive and graceful – although not entirely legal – throw-in ever, ended with the men sporting the new primary kit and the women showing off the secondary ones.

Warren Smith then came out with a handful of Republic FC players, all sporting the new kit, for the full presentation.

During the presentation, Smith announced that the Republic were partnering with Nike to make the kits.

Those in attendance were able to purchase the new kits before they go on sale to the public next Friday, November 27th. Quite a few people took advantage of the opportunity.

Although the new kits are certainly a departure from the earlier sash design, they were generally well received.
