Three Stories
Rochester Rhinos open at home with a Win
After a three-match road trip to start the year, the defending champs opened their 2016 home schedule with a 2-1 victory over FC Montreal. Christian Volesky added to his tally this week scoring both goals in Rochester's win. Volesky has been on the end of each goal the Rhinos have scored this season, and has now tallied seven goals against the Canadian side dating to last year. FC Montreal, on the other hand, has had a less than ideal start to the year, holding the honor of the last club without any points earned this season, as well as being tied for last in goals scored across the league.
First ESPN match of the Season!
A groundbreaking new deal was signed between the USL and ESPN earlier this week to broadcast matches throughout the season with the first match of the broadcast schedule on ESPN 3 this past Friday night. Orlando City B notched their first win of their USL history beating the Pittsburgh Riverhounds 2-1. Tyler Turner scored twice for OCB in the win. Pittsburgh will get to share the national spotlight on ESPN again next week as they travel to top-of-the table Louisville City.
NYRBII: Last Unbeaten in the East
The New York Red Bulls II continue their unbeaten start after a 1-0 victory over the Wilmington Hammerheads. Rafael Diaz earned his second - and the club's fourth - consecutive shutout. What would have been the tying goal for Wilmington in the last minute of stoppage time was called off when a foul on the goalkeeper was called.

Charlotte Independence and FC Cincinnati have moved up after wins from both sides this past week have them tied for third, with Charlotte taking the tiebreaker on goal difference. At the other end, Orlando City B have climbed out of the cellar with their win over Pittsburgh. FC Montreal now occupy the last spot in the east, twelve points off leader Louisville City.
