On Saturday evening, Sacramento Republic FC took on Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 in front of a sellout crowd at Papa Murphy’s Park, earning a two-goal win to mark Emrah Klimenta’s 100th professional appearance for the club.

Sacramento’s Midfielder, No. 10 Danny Barrera, was sidelined for the match due to a suspension handed down from the USL for the Reno 1868 FC game last Saturday.

Despite the absence, Sacramento, captained by Klimenta, was able to equalize an early goal made by Vancouver’s Terran Campbell, with a goal from Sacramento forward Sammy Ochoa, then a final goal from midfielder Agustin Cazarez to take the win.

After the match, fans were invited onto the pitch to take shots on goal as well as interact with Republic players.

Sacramento’s next match will be Wednesday, June 21 against the Rio Grande Valley FC Toros at Papa Murphy’s Park.
