Republic roster continues to take shape — defender Dekel Keinan inks deal

Sacramento Republic FC continued to build out its 2019 roster today with the announcement that it had signed veteran defender Dekel Keinan. With the addition of Keinan, the Quails now have four defenders signed ahead of the season.

Keinan played with FC Cincinnati last season where he made 23 appearances, netting two goals while serving as team captain.

The 34 year-old comes to the Republic with loads of experience. Prior to FC Cincinnati, Keinan played for Maccabi Haifa of the Israel Premier League, where he was part of two league championships and competed in the UEFA Cup and Champions League.

Additionally, has played for several English Premier League clubs including Blackpool FC, Bristol City, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace.

The Israel-born Keinan also has 27 caps for his National Team, including 10 World Cup Qualifiers and eight UEFA Euro Qualifers.

His experience at the position, as well as his overall experience as a professional should be a boost to the Republic on and off the pitch.
