Sacramento Republic FC hit the road to face Las Vegas Lights FC for the first time in history Saturday night in what was a battle of the unbeaten. It was a mostly familiar starting XI for Republic manager Simon Elliott, with the exception of Carlos Rodriguez and Christian Eissele who got the start in place of Mitch Taintor and Wilson Kneeshaw.

Las Vegas would strike first on a Carlos Alvarez corner that was headed in by Joel Huiqui to give Lights FC an 0-1 lead in the 2nd minute.
Republic FC would draw even in the 57th minute. Villyan Bijev smacked a low line corner that Christian Eissele was able to connect on.

The match would end in a 1-1 draw despite the fact that Sacramento was the better side. That said, one point on the road against a solid Lights FC side is a good outcome for the Quails, who remain unbeaten at 3-2-0.
Republic have a quick turnaround. They host Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Wednesday, April 18. That match is scheduled to kick off at 7:30pm.
