For the second time this season, a Sacramento Republic FC player has earned USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week. In week two, it was Cameron Iwasa who was nominated for Goal of the Week (and won), and in week five, it was forward Christian Eissele who delivered a beautiful flick on what was a great corner from Villyan Bijev.

Not only was it a splendid goal from Eissele and set up from Bijev, it secured an important draw and point on the road and kept Republic FC undefeated (3-2-0). With the goal, Eissele and Cameron Iwasa lead the Republic with two goals a piece.
As I am writing this, Eissele is currently leading the voting with 45 percent of the vote (241 total votes). The next closest is Jose Aguinaga from New York Red Bulls II with 16 percent.
Fans wishing to see Eissele hold his lead should get their voting in here. Deadline to cast a vote is Thursday, April 19 at 9pm PST.
I loved Eissele’s goal for the reasons mentioned, but check out the goal below from Koji Hashimoto of Orange County SC. This is pretty spectacular.
