Sacramento Republic FC released a third kit today in support of the club’s fifth anniversary. The club plans to debut the new kit when they face Real Monarchs SLC on July 7, and will wear it four additional times throughout the 2018 season as part of their “5YearsofGlory” celebration.
The “5YearsofGlory” celebration includes special activations at Papa Murphy’s Park, appearances from former Republic FC players, historical photo displays, new commemorative merchandise, and more.
“With the fifth anniversary of the club’s launch approaching, we knew we wanted to do something special to mark the occasion,” said Republic FC President & COO Ben Gumpert. “A lot has changed since we launched five years ago, but what has remained constant is the passion and support that our diverse fanbase and community have for this club. This new kit is a celebration of that.”
The black jersey with grey stripes is a clean look, and is the club’s first of its kind and second-only third kit. It also includes a hidden inscription on the fabric’s underside that when flipped up says “Glory Glory Sacramento” as a reminder of the club’s mission.

While obviously different, the black jersey is reminiscent (at least in my view) of the Sacramento Kings black and white alternative jersey.
