Sacramento Republic FC faced off against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC Saturday night in their first road match of the 2019 season. Republic FC were looking to rebound from dropping points at home last Saturday in their 1-1 home opener against Real Monarchs SLC.
Republic FC manager Simon Elliott went with the following starting XI. Worth noting, Mitchell Taintor and Sam Werner were inserted into the lineup over Elliott Hord and Villyan Bijev (who was held out with a left hamstring injury):

Republic would score in the only goal in the 57th minute after Sam Werner was taken down in the box by Jamal Jack who easily could have earned a red card on the play. Cameron Iwasa stepped up and easily converted the penalty to give the Quails a 1-0 advantage.
