Sacramento Republic FC are heading into their seventh season and are looking to end 2020 holding the USL Championship title. Obviously that’s the goal every season, for most teams.
But what would you consider success for Sac Republic this year? Even if a team doesn’t capture a title doesn’t mean the season was a failure, necessarily. It can mean that, but doesn’t necessarily mean that every time.
Sacramento have a six-year streak of making the playoffs, so it seems like that’s the very bare minimum expectation this year. Beyond that, is there a range between reaching the postseason and lifting the title come season’s end, or is one of those poles the very definition of success?
So let’s hear from you. There’s a poll here you should vote on (if you don’t see it in the story, try opening the story in a browser and not Apple News or Google AMP), and if you’re inclined to leave a comment to explain your choice, have at it. Let’s chat in the comments below!
