After a rare bye week, Sacramento Republic FC are back in action Wednesday afternoon for a rare matinee match against a familiar opponent, in Portland Timbers 2, in Portland.
These teams last played in Sacramento’s last game, which ended a 2-1 win for Sacramento after Portland gave them a real scare. With a week and a half between games, that should give Sacramento some time to rest before the final hectic weeks of the regular season.
In the meantime, Portland played last Wednesday at home, falling 3-2 to LA Galaxy II to maintain their winless start to the season. The law of averages says at some point Portland are going to win a game, and to be honest, they’ve played Sacramento very well so far this season. But it will be up to Republic FC to maintain their perfect record against T2 to keep pace in the Group A playoff race.
One important note for this game — it’s scheduled for a 12 pm PT kickoff. So whether you need to set up a furtive screen while working or you have a free schedule at lunchtime, don’t miss the boat on the kickoff time for the SRFC game.
Odds:
Our partners at DraftKings Sportsbook didn’t have lines out for any USL games on Wednesday when this post was written, so we’ll see if they drop. Needless to say, Sacramento should be huge favorites once again on the betting lines.
How to Watch:
Wednesday’s match between Sac Republic and Portland Timbers 2 will be aired on KQCA My58 and Estrella TV Sacramento in the Sacramento viewing area and streamed on ESPN+ in the rest of the United States. The broadcast is scheduled to start at 12 pm PT at Providence Park with kickoff to follow.
