How to Watch Sacramento Republic vs. Las Vegas Lights: Lineups, odds, game thread

Republic FC aim to open home slate with victory.

Lineups:

Sacramento bring in Luis Felipe and Tucker Bone for their first starts. Tomas Gomez retains his spot in goal.

Las Vegas are starting with six loanees from LAFC:

Sacramento Republic FC will open their home schedule for the 2021 USL Championship regular season on Wednesday, when they host Las Vegas Lights FC at the newly-christened Heart Health Park.

Sac Republic have one game under their belts, a 1-0 road win over LA Galaxy II almost two weeks ago, while Las Vegas also have played one game, also at LA Galaxy II, but in their case it ended in a 5-0 loss. Will that be an omen for this one? Time will tell but Sac Republic will probably like their chances against Las Vegas, who completely overturned their roster for this season and have a new head coach, Steve Cherundolo, while they have effectively become LAFC’s reserve team. The MLS team sent down eight loanees for the first game, and I expect at least 5-6 loanees from LAFC again, a couple of whom may be impact players for Lights FC.

But Sac Republic will be looking to step up their performance from their first match. While they found the winner, they had evident rust in the season opener, and will look to be far more fluid going forward in this game. If they can step up their level, they could have a very good night indeed, but we’ll see how the teams do in this one.

Odds:

No odds are listed for this game as of Tuesday night, although I would imagine Republic FC would be huge favorites for this one if they did exist.

How to Watch:

Wednesday’s match between Sac Republic and Las Vegas Lights will be aired on KQCA My58 and Estrella TV Sacramento in the Sacramento viewing area and streamed on ESPN+ in the rest of the United States. The broadcast is scheduled to start at 7:30 pm PT at Heart Health Park in Sacramento with kickoff to follow.
