Sacramento Republic FC had kicked off the season with two kits already and no new looks, so they weren’t going to unveil a new kit this year? Think again!
On Tuesday, the club dropped the “Quail Kit,” with a third kit to be used by the club in the 2021 season.
The look is a white jersey and white shorts, but! the detail on the jersey is pretty cool, with gold and silver swoops on the front of the jersey meant to mimic the look of the broad chest of a quail, the unofficial nickname of the club stemming back to the famous April Fool’s Joke in 2016 that everybody actually liked, that quails were going to become the mascots for the team.

“The quails have been a fun, fan-driven tradition and after a difficult year apart from our supporters, the Quail Kit salutes their deep love for the Indomitable Club,” said Vice President of Marketing Allison Yee-Garcia in a team statement. “On the field or off, we hope that fans will wear this jersey with pride, knowing that they continue to have a strong role in the story of Republic FC.”
The Quail Kit will be used on the field for the first time on Saturday, when Sac Republic host Phoenix Rising FC at Heart Health Park.
