The past month has been a busy one for USL expansion news. First we got a somewhat premature report of a USL expansion to Reno that was corrected with 2017 as a possible date. Then, we got a confirmed expansion announcement of USL in Texas’s Rio Grande Valley for 2016. And finally, FC Cincinnati was officially announced as an Eastern Conference expansion team, as reported first on Scratching the Pitch and Wrong Side of the Pond.
All this expansion news has started us at ICS thinking about further USL Westward Expansion. Reno has us excited for potential road games and it seems as though every fan in San Jose is clamoring for the Earthquakes to start their own MLS 2 team. But what we really want to know is what you, our readers, think or hope is coming next for USL in the Western Conference.
Which brings us to our second ICS Poll Question. What do you see in store for #USLWest in the future?
I like the idea of having our USL2 team play in Fresno (actually prefer Reno but that’s taken). I think it will attract new fans to follow the first team as well. Of course this is all if/when we make it to MLS.

That would be a pretty good idea if/when the Republic finally make it to MLS. I always preferred that kind of situation to the Los Dos type of model.
