This morning it was announced that Sacramento Republic FC will be bringing back Octavio Guzman for a third season, exercising his contract option while he recovers from shoulder surgery. “Tavo” was one of our priority signings and will be a welcome piece of the squad going forward.
Guzman’s importance to Republic can’t be understated, and his support from the club in being brought back amid injury concerns is a testament to that. The versatile midfielder was praised in the club’s release by Head Coach and Technical Director Paul Buckle, who said, “We know based on his performance how much he means to our club - both in his attitude and aptitude.”
Early fan response seems to echo that sentiment.
Tavo had arthroscopic shoulder surgery on October 12 and is expected to be ready for the 2016 season.
