Five Stories

FC Cincinnati Win Final River Cities Cup Match

Louisville City FC did something this week that they had only ever done once previously this season. They lost. For only the second time this season, Louisville were on the wrong side of the scoreline at the final whistle. This season's final match of the inaugural River Cities Cup saw the victory go to Ohio thanks for a 2-0 by FC Cincinnati.

FCC were in control all match, and now look to carry this momentum into their battle with another top four club, Charleston Battery , this weekend. On the other side, Louisville will look to return to their offensive effectiveness against Orlando City B, against whom they have scored eight goals.

Baby Bulls lose to Battery

Despite starting the week on a high with a win over top club FC Cincinnati on Wednesday, the New York Red Bulls II were unable make it two for two as they fell 3-2 to the Charleston Battery on Saturday. The Baby Bulls unbeaten streak has reached its end at 12. Despite the bad result, NYRBII are still within a point of leaders Louisville City and are still very much in the hunt for the top spot in the USL.

Los Dos hold Another Offensive Clinic

The league's most potent offense recorded yet another high scoring win on Saturday as they defeated San Antonio FC 3-2. Los Dos currently sit in a tie for first of the West and are riding a nine match unbeaten streak, having outscored their opponents 20-10 during that time. Jack McBean added to his league leading goal tally with a goal on Saturday, stretching his own scoring streak to three straight.

OKC Shutout Rival Tulsa

OKC Energy FC posted their second shutout of the year over in-state rivals Tulsa Roughnecks in their 3-0 win on Saturday. A red card from Tulsa's Sammy Ochoa in the second half left the visitors down a man for the last 15 minutes.

OKC now ride a seven match unbeaten streak and have moved into the top four of the West. Tulsa watched yet another result go against them and they now hold the dubious honors of "leading" the West in losses (12) and the entire league in goals against (39).

Whitecaps 2 Escape with a Victory

Scoring in second-half stoppage time, Vancouver Whitecaps 2 regained control of their offense with a 2-1 victory over Sacramento Republic FC on Sunday. After two consecutive shutout losses, Whitecaps 2 will be pleased to find the back of the net once more. The Vancouver club kept their place at the top of the West. With a crucial fixture against Colorado Springs Switchbacks this week, Whitecaps 2 are looking to cement their top spot in the West for another week.
