The MLS expansion has me filled with so much anxiety I can’t help but sit here and be unproductive. So why not write about it?
Yesterday I was as full of confidence in the expansion as anyone, and due to one tweet by our own local super-fan, Carmichael Dave, I can’t help but sit here and feel some bad news is coming our way.
I just want to say how proud I am of my friends Kevin Nagle, Ben Gumpert, Kunal Merchant, Benny Aziz, Mayor Steinberg, and the whole Republic team. They left it ALL on the pitch, killing it for a long time.

And my God the fans. Wow.
SO honored to know these guys.
This is not for certain, and I’d rather know nothing at all going into the final decision, but now my mind is filled with so much paranoia.
The thing that hurts Sacramento the most is the one thing that hard work cannot shake off: Sacramento isn’t the sexy option. If for whatever reason our city isn’t chosen, this would probably be the main/only reason why.
My heart is heavy and although I know all of the reasons why Sacramento is the best option, I can’t help but shake the feeling that MLS doesn’t think so.
So fellow fans, please join me in venting or showing your concern with me in the comments below. Better yet, let’s show our support regardless of the result and remain the resilient fan base that we are. A major league team will come here, but maybe not right now. It hurts, but you have to deal with the cards you’re dealt.
I have hope that Kevin Nagle and Warren Smith will #BringItHome
