Sacramento Republic FC returned home Saturday night after a mini two-game road trip to host Orange County SC. The last time these two sides played during week 2 of the season, it was the Republic who would win 1-0 and secure three points on the road thanks to an incredible goal by Cameron Iwasa and solid play from keeper Josh Cohen.

Here is how Republic FC manager Simon Elliott filled out his starting XI.

In the 57th minute, the Republic would open the scoring after Villyan Bijev was taken down in the box and awarded a penalty kick. Midfielder Jeremy Hall would calmly step up and slot it home to give the home side a 1-0 advantage. Notably, it was Hall’s first goal of the 2018 season.

The match would end in a 1-0 victory for the Republic with the loan goal from Hall. With the win, Republic move to 7-3-3 (24 points) and move into third place, while Orange County drops to 6-4-2 (20 points).

Republic return to action Wednesday, June 6 when they host Seattle Sounders FC as part of the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Their next USL match is June 9 at home against Phoenix Rising FC.
