I have an idea: Let’s make a book club.
Usually in these things, when someone makes a book club, they pick the book. I want some other folks to be a part of this, so let’s see if we can pick a book together.
Here’s what I’m thinking:
- Ask for your help in picking a book (here)
- Then decide on a book
- Get a group of people together to commit to the book club
- Read the book
- Hold a discussion (private or public) about the book
- Have fun!
If you want to read a soccer book, I’m happy to do that. If you want to read a random non-soccer book, sure, why not? But let’s make this something where we can build a community together, and I’d like to see if we can start with this have fun and no pressure book club.
Let me stress that I don’t care about the purported quality of the book. All I want is to read something that other people are reading, so that we can talk about it together. Don’t overthink this.
So are you with me? Please leave a recommendation for a book you would be willing to read in the comments below, and we’ll try to get this off the ground. Thanks for your consideration!
