How to Watch Sacramento Republic vs. Orange County SC: Lineups, odds, game thread

A big test as Sac Republic look to return to the win column

Joseph de Ocampo

Pregame update: The game has been postponed because of positive coronavirus tests among LA Galaxy II and/or San Diego Loyal. Because Sacramento played Los Dos on Saturday, the 11th hour decision was made to postpone the game. Here’s more information on the news, we’ll fill in more on ICS as we learn more.

Lineups:

Mark Briggs rings in the changes for Sacramento, bringing in Rafael Diaz in goal and Cam Iwasa and Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu back into the starting XI, with Kharlton Belmar getting his first start.

Orange County also rotate some for their XI after the weekend’s win, bringing in Blake Malone for his pro debut and Cammy Palmer returning to the lineup.

One way to get over a loss is to get right back on the horse, and Sacramento Republic FC will attempt just that, as they host Orange County SC Wednesday night in USL Championship regular season play.

These teams are not group rivals, so this is another novel game for Sac Republic. The last one like that, Saturday against LA Galaxy II, ended in a Republic FC loss, and frankly, OCSC are not going to be easy themselves, unbeaten in three games this year and coming off a win over Phoenix Rising. However, Orange County have yet to play a road game this season, and I do think that threw Sacramento off a little against Los Dos, so maybe the same will be true for the new opponent at Papa Murphy’s Park.

At any rate, with Republic FC racking up some games, they could really use a win to give them some space atop Group A, and also to put them back on the path to hopefully becoming contenders over the long haul this season. I think Orange County are also capable of being contenders in the West, so this is going to be a big test for both teams. It should be a good one.

Odds:

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, as of Monday evening, odds are not yet available for this game. Will update when they are available (and on the clock).

How to Watch:

Wednesday’s match between Sac Republic and Orange County will be aired on KQCA My58 and Estrella TV Sacramento in the Sacramento viewing area and streamed on ESPN+ in the rest of the United States. The broadcast is scheduled to start at 8 pm PT at Papa Murphy’s Park with kickoff to follow.
