Sacramento Republic’s rescheduled game vs. Orange County SC to take place Sept. 9

Sacramento Republic FC announced Monday their previously postponed game, against Orange County SC at home, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9.

The game, originally scheduled on July 29, was postponed less than an hour before kickoff, with a coronavirus outbreak on Sac Republic’s previous opponent, LA Galaxy II, leading to a postponement for the night out of an abundance of caution. While it didn’t affect Sac Republic, who were in Sacramento, Orange County drove all the way up and then had to drive all the way back, and will get to make the trip again.

Sacramento sit tied atop Group A with Reno 1868 FC with nine games played so far this season. Including the rescheduled game, there are seven games scheduled to go in the regular season. And with Republic FC and OCSC currently sitting on four-game winning streaks, the NorCal-SoCal showdown should be a good one.
