Republic fans looking for a new signing at forward will be interested to see this. According to the daily Gloucestershire Echo, 20-year-old striker Harry Williams will be reunited with Paul Buckle, his manager at Cheltenham Town before Buckle came to Sacramento.
Williams is a youth system product of Cheltenham, a fifth-tier club in the Cotswolds area of England that was recently relegated from League 2. Williams made 13 appearances for the Robins, adding 44 appearances and 22 goals in various loan stints around England's lower tiers.
Indomitable City Soccer was unable to gain confirmation on the link between Williams and Sacramento Republic at this time, but we will stay with the lead as training camp approaches and trialists arrive in town.
What do you think? Is there any truth to this report? Is forward a priority at this time? Will Buckle's prior relationship with this player be an added benefit on the pitch? Leave a comment below.
