Fort Lauderdale Strikers (NASL) 1-1 (2-0 PKs) Richmond Kickers
The only Third Round match that went to penalties, Richmond failed to convert on four attempts, seeing the Strikers through to the next round.
Jacksonville Armada FC (NASL) 2-1 (AET) Charleston Battery
Armada posted their first Open Cup victory in club history against the Battery.
Rochester Rhinos 2-0 Lansdowne Bhoys FC (PDL)
Rhinos are the only USL club to host an MLS side as they welcome the New York Red Bulls in the Fourth Round.
New York Cosmos (NASL) 2-0 Jersey Express (PDL)
Cosmos advance with a third straight appearance in the Fourth Round.
Chattanooga FC (NPSL) 1-2 Harrisburg City Islanders
Despite being down at halftime, Harrisburg rallied back to advance. A match against their former MLS affiliates waits in the Fourth Round.
Carolina Railhawks FC (NASL) 5-0 (AET) Charlotte Independence
After no goals from either side at the end of regulation, the Railhawks quickly took advantage of the Independence being down a man and scored five goals in extra time.
Tampa Bay Rowdies (NASL) 1-0 FC Cincinnati
For only the second time in the club's history, FC Cincinnati were shutout in a match.
Indy Eleven (NASL) 2-1 Louisville City FC
Indy Eleven put together a comeback in the second half with two goals over the current USL points leader.
Miami FC (NASL) 1-2 Wilmington Hammerheads FC
The Hammerheads scored two goals in the first five minutes and advance to face an MLS club for the first time since 2013.
Saint Louis FC 0-2 Minnesota United FC (NASL)
A reverse of last year's result as Minnesota United shutout Saint Louis FC.
Rayo OKC (NASL) 1-2 (AET) OKC Energy FC
Energy defeat their cross town rivals with a goal in extra time.
Des Moines Menace (PDL) 1-2 San Antonio FC
A pair of late goals push San Antonio FC into the Fourth Round.
La Maquina (USASA) 2-0 L.A. Wolves FC (USASA)
In the round's only all-amateur match, La Maquina come out on top and get to continue their Open Cup run with a match against the LA Galaxy up next.
Arizona United SC 0-3 Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC
The all-USL match sees the Switchbacks advance to the Fourth Round in convincing form.
Sacramento Republic 1-3 Kitsap Pumas (PDL)
Kitsap scored three goals in five minutes, dooming Republic's hopes of advancing.
Notable
USL went 2-6 against NASL clubs, with OKC Energy and Wilmington Hammerheads the only clubs to post wins.
The six USL clubs that moved on all meet MLS clubs in the Fourth Round, with USL clubs going a combined 9-34 against MLS sides in the Open Cup since 2012.
