Sacramento Republic FC vs Swope Park Rangers, 2017 USL Regular Season: How to Watch

Everything you need to prepare you for tonight’s match, all in one place.

Alex Leguizamo/Indomitable City Soccer

It feels like we were just saying this, but Sacramento Republic FC have a game today. Tonight’s match again Swope Park Rangers is the Republic’s third in the past seven days, a scheduling quirk more reminiscent of the 2014 USL season than the LARGEST REGULAR SEASON IN LEAGUE HISTORY!!!1!.

But enough of that. Let’s move beyond the scheduling and focus on the match at hand.

Storylines

Short Rest vs Long Rest. As I mentioned above, this it the Republic’s third game in seven days. In contrast, this is only SPR’s third game of the entire season. They haven’t played a game in 17 days.

Cameron Iwasa Returns. One of the big stories of the Republic’s offseason was the departure of Sacramento native and fan-favorite, Cameron Iwasa. Iwasa left the Republic after a record-setting season to sign with Sporting Kansas City. Iwasa will likely be facing off against the Republic tonight after he was sent to SPR on a one-game loan.

Hat Trick Harry is Terrifying

Seriously. We can’t let this thing win.
